"Film
Fusion has advanced negative cutting software into the 21st
century. After using DOS based software for the past 14 years,
this is the software that we need to interact with the current
and new editing systems and the new high definition and digital
internegative finishing options as well as traditional print
finishing. It is
currently being used on two feature films with 1 million feet
plus footages on each, with no fear of ever running out of
processing capacity. With constant upgrades on the software
being available we will never be left behind in the technology
advances talking place within film making today.
The biggest benefits of Film
Fusion are the different lists that it can make, optical,
pulling, dupe and cutting that can be sorted into any format
i.e. event no, footage, lab roll etc from either an EDL or work
print, which means even the biggest and most complicated jobs
can be done in a logical and cost effective way. This software
will help keep us as the UK's biggest negative cutting company."

“The EDL management is particularly good in
that it recognises speed changes and produces a complete online
EDL that requires no changes other than the title or the odd
note.”
“Moving from our previous system (OSC/R) was
easy. We can import OSC/R logs directly into Film Fusion and
produce cut lists that contain more usable information than OSC/R
lists.”
“We like the diversity of lists available in
Film Fusion. Being able to get a dupe list, an optical list, and
being able to create scanning lists for effects at the push of a
button is a major plus.”
“I think the fact that the software was
developed by a former negative matcher is important. He has put in
all the features that we have always wanted in a negative matching
product.”
“Having used OSC/R for more than ten years, we
found Film Fusion a logical step forward. It runs on Windows XP
and offers all the features OSC/R lacked.”
“The industry has changed over the years and
is moving toward the digital realm with digital intermediaries and
scanning for effects and grading purposes. Film Fusion offers a
clear path to this digital future.” |

“We found it (Film Fusion) user friendly and
easy to learn. It was stable and offered more versatile logging
and production management features than the software we were
using.”
“The screen is not too cluttered or busy. It
is easy to find files and access them all from the one screen.”
“Finally, some software that is keeping us
up-to date with the current advances in the industry.” |

“The Film Fusion EDL tool highlighted many
inconsistencies in the client’s original data which would have
been a disaster for their neg cut.”
“A subsequent overseas feature project was
found to have been saved as a 24fps EDL which our NLE could not
import. Faced with the prospect of having to manually enter the
timecode we imported the EDL into Film Fusion and used the EDL
options to clean up the EDL and it then output a perfect EDL.”
“Although I haven’t had much call to use the
Film Fusion cut list capabilities, its EDL management features
alone make it an indispensable tool for any serious post
production facility.” |

"I
had a particularly complex commercial with a fifteen layer EDL
with almost every event involving speed changes. I merged each
layer and sorted the EDL in layer order so that each layered event
was extracted and spliced in sequence. Film Fusion created a
perfect Online EDL in less than one second compared to my old
software which would have taken hours to do each speed change
manually." |
